Real Madrid Castilla vs Real Avilés – October 25, 2025

On October 25, 2025, I attended my first Real Madrid Castilla match. In this game, Real Madrid Castilla and Real Avilés met for just the third time in history. Their first encounter came in 1991 in Asturias, where Real Avilés claimed the win. A year later, in 1992, Real Madrid Castilla evened the record with a victory of their own.

Heading into this match, both teams featured in-form attackers, with César Palacios and Javi Cueto each on four goals this season. Real Madrid Castilla, coached by Álvaro Arbeloa, were also aiming for their fourth consecutive league win, while Real Avilés were led by Daniel Vidal.

Real Madrid Castilla opened the scoring in the 19th minute. César Palacios delivered a cross from the left side, and Loren Zúñiga rose between the centre-backs to head the ball in, giving Castilla the early advantage.

The hosts struck again in the 26th minute, once more through Loren Zúñiga. This time the assist came from David Jiménez, whose pass broke the Avilés defence, allowing Zúñiga to finish from the centre of the box and make it 2–0.

Real Madrid Castilla’s two goals in the first half proved enough, and the team closed out the match with a composed performance. The result completes the third-ever meeting between the clubs and adds another chapter to their growing history.

Experiencing my first Real Madrid Castilla match in person offered a deeper appreciation for the club, its rising talents, and the history it continues to write. As the season progresses, there will no doubt be more moments worth capturing—and more reports that follow.
